Wine Country Insider through June 5, 2011

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! It's the unofficial kick-off to summer and we're celebrating with GlassFest this weekend in Finger Lakes Wine Country.  GlassFest is taking place now through Sunday in Corning's Gaffer District. Enjoy a wine and beer tasting tonight, along with live music and a celebration called Light up the Night! Market Street in Corning turns into a street festival tomorrow with glass artists, live demos, and many vendors. More information can be found at GlassFest.org

Visiting the region for GlassFest? You can also take part in the final Riesling Month events throughout Wine Country. It's not too late to take advantage of free shipping on Riesling at many participating wineries too.  For further information on Riesling Month visit RieslingRocks.com.

Did you take part in Riesling Hour last night? Visit our Escape to the Finger Lakes podcast page on our website to check out the full 30-minute Pre Show with special guests from Fox Run Vineyards, Wagner Vineyards, Hunt Country Vineyards, Three Brothers Winery, and Red Newt Cellars. While there, listen to last week's Wine Country Insider all about Memorial Day Weekend happenings.

There is lots to look forward to next weekend (June 3-5):

Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen, a weekend dedicated to sports car racing.

Hunt Country Vineyards' 3rd Annual Dog Walk to benefit the Yates County Humane Society.

The Golden Nose Award at the New York Wine & Culinary Center, a Finger Lakes Wine Experience.

Winestock at Three Brothers Winery

So much to choose from! And there is more where that came from.  Visit Events.FingerLakesWineCountry.com to find out more exciting events that are happening this weekend and to search out events that may be taking place when you're visiting.
