While it is true that every season is a great time to visit the Finger Lakes, fall does seem to be a popular time to do so. With the changing leaves, excitement of harvest, and all of the delicious fall bounty, it’s easy to see why everyone loves this time of year. And since it is a busy time of year around here, there is also so much to do!
Festivals and Events
The Fall Festivals showcase the fruits of harvest and are the
last chance to celebrate warmer weather before winter moves in.
U.S. Vintage Grand Prix | Sept. 5-7, 2014
This annual event
celebrates something extremely special about the small town at the
southern end of Seneca Lake. Watkins Glen was the home of a 6.6 mile road
course that went through its downtown streets. This annual tribute was designed
to recreate the atmosphere of the street races that took place from
1948-1955. Every year this event draws thousands of people to celebrate in the
excitement of vintage car racing.
The U.S. Vintage Grand Prix has something for everyone. The
downtown streets of Watkins Glen are lined with live music, wine
tastings, food, and so much more! There are also over 600 class sports cars to
admire as you wander throughout the town.
For tickets and more information visit www.grandprixfestival.com.
The famous Watkins Glen International Speedway also celebrates
the Vintage Grand Prix in the form of Glenora Wine Cellars U.S. Vintage Grand
Prix the same weekend. For more information about this special race visit www.theglen.com.
