Wine and Dine in the Sun at the 2012 Finger Lakes Wine Festival

In just four short days, the Watkins Glen International Speedway will be transformed, once again, into the largest showcase of New York State wines and wineries at the 2012 Finger Lakes Wine Festival.

The ever anticipated festival will feature over 80 participating wineries to sample from, including Fox Run Vineyards, Heron Hill Winery, Red Newt Wine Cellars and Dr Frank’s Vinifera Wine Cellars.

During this three-day-long event, you can also find a variety of activities, vendors and events to partake in.  Beginning Friday night, the festival will kick off at the Launch of the Lakes where you can find live music, fireworks and an array of toga clad wine enthusiasts.  The following day, take a stab at one of the many free, on-site culinary classes offered with some of the region’s top chefs or participate in the thrill seeking Pace Car Ride where you can feel the rush of driving a racecar from the vantage point of a professional NASCAR driver.
Other events will include a Great Western breakfast featured both Saturday and Sunday as well as a taster’s banquet Saturday evening where you can learn tips on food and wine pairings.

Tickets for both the festival and special events are available online or can be purchased at the main entrance gate.  For more information on the Finger Lakes Wine Festival follow it on twitter @FLWineFest or find it on facebook at http://tinyurl.com/FLWineFest.
