5th Annual Elmira Street Painting Festival

Come celebrate the fifth annual Street Painting Festival this weekend in downtown Elmira!  This two day celebration features local area artists who transform ordinary downtown streets into unique works of art.

Beginning in July of 2008 to honor Elmira’s rich art community, the festival was created in hopes of bringing more interest to downtown Elmira and, in turn, making it a more sought after destination for the region.  The festival quickly grew in popularity and now attracts more than a thousand visitors each year.

Featuring styles ranging from Renaissance pieces to Cubism to Pop Art, the masterpieces are left on the street for the public to enjoy until the next rainfall. Along with one of a kind artwork, there will be food vendors, music and a brand new craft fair.

Other events will include face painting for the kids, as well as “Mast-fur-pieces” for your pets where you can dip your dog’s paws into some pet friendly paint and let them roam free to create one of a kind abstract works of art.

The festival is free to all public.  For more information please visit www.elmirastreetpaintingfestival.org
