Wine Country Insider Special Royal Wedding Edition -- Romance in the Finger Lakes

Chances are that you were one of the estimated two billion people who watched the Royal wedding this morning. I know the ladies in the Finger Lakes Wine Country office were certainly among the group that set our alarms to wake up bright and early and marvel at the big event. For weeks we've been taking bets on what style dress Kate would wear and how she might wear her hair. And now as history has been made our questions have also been answered.

This morning Morgen and I chatted on our weekly podcast, the Wine Country Insider, all about our reactions to the wedding and some romantic places in Finger Lakes Wine Country. Use the player below to listen or click here.

While we were both surprised by Kate's dress, we were also agreed that we couldn't image a dress more perfect for her. The lace bodice was gorgeous, the neckline really made the dress in my opinion.

I was happy to see Kate wear her hair down. There was so many rumors about her wairing her hair pulled back and under that elegant veil, it was perfect.

Morgen mentioned she was underwhelmed by Kate's bouquet. I was envisioning something larger and perhaps more colorful, but perhaps that would have taken away from her dress and her beaming smile.

And you can't leave out the kiss!

Overall, the romance and pure magic of the event got me thinking about the romantic places in Finger Lakes Wine Country. Here are some links to places Morgen and I agreed were very romantic and certainly a great place for a wedding, a proposal, honeymoon or an anniversary.

Watkins Glen State Park
Glenora Wine Cellars
Seneca Sailing Adventures
Garrett Chapel
Belhurst Castle
Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel
Ventosa Vineyards

That's simply a taste - really the entire region is perfect for a romantic getaway.  We'd love to hear your reaction to the royal wedding and what you have in store for a romantic trip this year.
